Methodology
This game uses 2021 census data.
Guessable place names include: census subdivisions excluding rural municipalities and Indian reserves with under 100 inhabitants, census population centres, and census designated places excluding certain acreage subdivisions and trailer parks.
In cases where urban municipalities are very large, guessing the name of the entire municipality will yield more people than guessing the name of a single urban centre within the municipality. Both can be guessed, but the resulting populations will not be double-counted.
Guesses are case-insensitive, accent-insensitive, digit-insensitive, and punctuation-insensitive. Some effort has been made to account for variant spellings and commonly used abbreviations.
